Project Description

The Promising Practices Rating System (PPRS) is an observational rating tool developed by Deborah Lowe Vandell, Kim Pierce, and colleagues that examines program quality in terms of process features of programs, or the experiences that children and youth have at the programs. It can be used for both research and program improvement purposes. The measure operationalizes the features of programs that promote positive development described by Eccles and Gootman (2002) in the NRC volume Community Programs to Promote Youth Development.
