Distinguished Professor of Education Greg Duncan was a member of the delegation organized by the Population Association of America to promote support for social and behavioral research funding. In addition to Professor Duncan, delegation members traveling to Washington, D.C. included Alan Guttmacher, Director of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development; Robert Kaplan, Director of the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Science Research (at NIH); and John Bartrum, chief staff member in charge of the National Institutes of Health account with the House Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Subcommittee.

The Population Association of America is a non-profit, scientific, professional organization that promotes research on population issues. Dr. Duncan was the 2008 president of the Association.
