Equipment Check Out
Instruction Guides for assisting students with their Teaching Event video recording are at http://education.uci.edu/te. The Instruction Guides are useful to any individual attempting to record and edit digital video.
DoE faculty, staff and students may check out equipment for department business/instructional purposes.
- Equipment may be checked out for one week maximum. Longer checkouts require special arrangements through Technical Services.
- Each borrower must fill out an Equipment
Checkout Form in the Tech Services Center, Rm. 2043.
- Each user is responsible for returning the equipment in original
working
order. Any lost or damaged equipment will be charged to the borrower.
- All equipment is expected to be returned on or ahead of its due date/time. If you cannot return your gear on or ahead
of its due date/time, you need to call the Tech Help Hotline at (949) 824-5537 as
soon as possible to let us know. We can then let the person waiting for your equipment know
you will be late.
- Individuals may arrange to handoff equipment to the next person
without
having to check it back in. The original person who checked out the
gear remains responsible for it unless the person to whom they loan the
gear emails education-tech-services@uci.edu to
tell us they are assuming responsibility for the equipment.
Equipment may be reserved in advance by filling out an Equipment
Checkout Form found in Rm. 2043 or by emailing the information needed (see below) to
gse-tech-help@uci.edu.
Reservations are not guaranteed. Technical Services will check
availability for requested equipment and respond to the requestor,
confirming or denying the reservation request.
You must pick up your equipment within 30 minutes
of your scheduled reservation pick up time. At 30 minutes past your
scheduled reservation pick up
time your reservation is cancelled and your gear made available to the
next person needing it.
If you cannot pick up
your gear within 30 minutes of your scheduled reservation pick up time,
you need to call the Tech Help Hotline at (949) 824-5537 to
change your reservation.

Instructions for all gear is online at manufacturers' web sites. The
Tech Staff can give brief operational instructions for equipment. It is
expected that the borrower will find further instructions and resources
on how to use the equipment on their own.
